To understand the reason why I chose to take on software development, you need to know a little about me. After high school my brain was scrambled with expectations, goals, ideas, and opportunities. One thing stood true I wanted to create. I had many interests which was awesome because it made me a chameleon to groups of people whom usually only associate themselves with others of like interests. I played sports with the athletes, trading cards with the hobbyists and head banged with the musicians. What moved me most was art of any form. Drawing, music, poetry, cinema and any other form of expression ,I thought, was powerful. This steered my decision to study graphic design in college. Little did I know the years after I would spend my time working doing manual labor even with a degree.

So now back to the question why software development? The future is embedded in technology and those who can use these tool to create have the advantage. My interest to create has been rekindled by the opportunity to learn another art form. Software Development also works well with the knowledge of graphic design. So better question is why not? A step up from an associate job will give me a glimpse at an actual career. Plus it’ll preserve my back, the real hidden gem, putting my fingers to work not my body. Regardless of what I choose next the trajectory will always be up. Trying to find your niche is like looking for a weak point of a defense, it’s always soft-where it’s being developed. Get it, software-develop... ah you get it.
